The Hope Seekers

Appearance

Anjay is a relatively average height at around 5ft7 though possibly a little on the short side and she has ocean blue eyes. She's generally slim though not overly so and Anjay is very fit due to the new lifestyle she's had to take on ever since Haven closed. Her hair used to be a blonde colour, however, her little brother found permanent hair dye in the rubble of a shop, people had no use for such things anymore, you couldn't eat it and it had no practical use. Anjay thought she should use it as a weapon, however, her little brother kept telling her how pretty her hair would look and eventually Anjay had to give in. She managed to find enough water to change her hair colour. The black and purple colour that came though was not something she would have chosen, but her little brother was so pleased that she kept it to this day. A creature of habit, Anjay often likes wearing the same things. She has her favourite red singlet with pink swirls, a dark blue pair of jeans, brown boots and small bag. If she had to change, however, Anjay would often choose similar clothes. A singlet top, jeans, boots and her bag.

 

Weapons

Anjay does have very good improvisation skills due to her upbringing. More often than not, she'll seek out a pipe like object or something long and sharp to use. This comes from the type of things she used to fight, in which getting too close was a serious risk. For this reason, she's been forced to adapt in several situations and use things that might not be traditionally used as weapons. She's even used her own scarf on one occasion in order to swing around and distract an opponent so that she could get to a more viable weapon. It seems for this reason, she's not so good at using more traditional weapons. Though she could use a mundane broken piece of pipe more effectivley than she could swing a blade. 

More recently, Keonrain has been teaching her how to use a bow and has become quite proficient in the weapon, however, when put up against any of the other seekers, even Kythax, she still appears a child in comparison. 

 

Personality

 

Anjay is introverted, first and foremost, but the amount of social interaction she can stand greatly depends on how close they are to her. Being socially selective, she prefers to dedicate her time and energy to a chosen few, this being her team of Seekers. She will always put them first before anyone else and can interact with them for a longer amount of time than she'd be able to with people she doesn't know as well. While she isn't adverse to making new friends and meeting new people, she does, as said, reserve her time and energy for those she feels it's worth putting the energy into. She's independent and has no problem functioning by herself, she's perfectly happy to find a nice quiet corner of the ship when she feels tired in order to curl up and read a book or just listen to music. While she is able to work well with her group, her independence means that when she's not needed or teamwork is not requried, she prefers to do her own thing. 

 

Anjay has become acustomed to loss over the course of her life, however she still has a strong sense of loyalty that it seems her past has only streangthened. She can become very protective over those close to her. This becomes almost a feirce drive that causes her sometimes to be cut-throat when it comes to others. She will ultimately put her Seekers before everyone else and protect them first and foremost, feeling she is unable to deal with the loss of them, having already lost her family. Due to the fact that she raised her little brother, she also has a strong maternal instinct and can be motherly provided you get her in the right mood. Because of all this, Anjay isn't above doing unsavoury tasks in order to ensure the safety of her Seekers and isn't one to be messed around with when it comes to those close to her. She also comes across very guarded to others, at least upon initial contact, the reason for this should be evident as well, she's had to learn not to trust others, no matter how friendly they may appear. And while it doesn't take long to warm up to someone, there is always an initial hesitation from Anjay.

 

She is a proud and stubborn soul once she believes there is something that needs to be done. She is committed and perfectly able to follow through whatever course of action she has decided on. However, she isn't unable to be reasoned with given the right person, words and circumstances. If these things are not met, she'll often be found difficult to move off her course of action. Her pride mostly comes as a defense mechanism, the circumstanses of her ubringing have taught her to deal with potential threats as soon as they appear, for this reason, if her pride is wounded, she'll often snap and can be quite assertive when dealing with others, making it perfectly clear when boundries have been overstepped. She can, however, be a bit blunt when things begin to get heated. While she can usually remain somewhat tactful when the situation calls for it, in every other case, she says what she means and doesn't pull punches. Despite this, she is thick skinned and capable of taking a lot of abuse, due to this, she has quite a high tolerence level though she won't hesitate to assert herself if nessesary. 

 

Patient, logical and a planner. Anjay is quite habitual by nature however, due to her lifestyle after the world practically ended, she's been forced to adapt, reducing her habits to things she can keep up while remaning safe. A few of these are: Wearing similar style clothes, listening to music before she goes to sleep, patrolling the house once before she goes to sleep among other things. Anjay has a lot of patience and has learned that it is best to wait and watch before taking an opportunity in order to ensure it's safe. She is very logical and has become more so since her family died, even getting close to the point where logic would override her morals, however, joining the Taki'ran Seekers has brought that down to a more reasonable level. She still tends to focus more on logic than emotion to the degree where she and Keonrain balance eachother out in different situations. This environemnt she was brought up in also gives her a high ability to focus, even in the face of danger or hightened emotion which allows her to continue to make the most benefical decisions. She is very aware of her surroundings and she doesn't often miss much, having learned that to miss anything would be a death sentence.
